An institution in Marino, delicious appetizer "while you wait", quality meat with perfect cooking, we had the meatballs with sauce and the burger made by them. Fried potatoes are their specialty, they never fail! And to finish off the homemade chocolate soufflé, with a heart of melted chocolate. Among the historic restaurants of Marino!

A nice place with a welcoming atmosphere, where we ate definitely above average supplì with a characteristic flavor and an excellent gricia, made with exquisite fresh pasta. Also promoted the service, prices more than reasonable. Undoubtedly a tavern to be taken into consideration even in an area full of excellent clubs such as that of the Castelli Romani

Che dire...locale storico al centro di Marino, accogliente e molto curato. Il cibo è stupendo, i primi non hanno eguali come gli antipasti e la carne... Raffaele e Francesca i proprietari ti fanno sentire a casa. Grazie per la professionalità e la dedizione che mettete nel vostro ristorante. Torneremo con amici. P.S. assaggiare supplì e fettuccine al ragù bianco...
What can I say ... historic restaurant in the center of Marino, welcoming and well cared for. The food is wonderful, the first courses are unmatched like the appetizers and the meat ... Raffaele and Francesca the owners make you feel at home. Thank you for the professionalism and dedication you put into your restaurant. We will come back with friends. P.S. taste supplì and fettuccine with white meat sauce ...

Build my hopes up then shoot 'em down... This place looked and felt very promising from the moment we walked in, until the food was set before us on the table. The menu was incredible with pages and pages and pages of different items to choose from. So many choices in fact, I couldn't help but order nearly one of everything. Okay, yes, that's an exaggeration, but my friend made me feel like it's not, with his judging me when we ordered five different appetizers between us. We each had an entree and we also succumbed to a dessert at the end too. The food sounded amazing on the menu, and from what I could see of other people's dishes at other tables, I was intrigued and falsely made to believe the food would be great - it wasn't. We started out with appetizers. The only one that really grabbed my taste buds' attention was the potato cake (torta di patate). That was delicious. The rest I could have done without. The foccacia with brie and prosciutto was good, but nothing to write home about. The entree of Pasta Funghi was nasty! I love mushrooms, and this was horrible. My friend, who is Italian, ate the majority of it and didn't mind it, but did complain to the waiter that there weren't enough mushrooms, and that there was just a bowl of pasta without anything else. The sausage and bruschetta I ended up eating as my entree was very good, but again just super standard. Not really the meal I'd anticipated having. The dessert at the end was yummy, but it reminded me of the "Pan di Stelle" that you can buy in the supermarkets there in Italy. The service was so slow. Insanely slow. My friend actually had to get up after about 15 minutes of waiting for someone to simply come over and greet us, and bring us bread and water to start with, before the manager came by and brought us those things. It was ridiculous. Then it took just as long, if not longer for our food to come out. It was my last day in Italy and we had planned to go to Rome, but we ended up lingering at this osteria not on purpose, but because we had no choice. We were there roughly two hours - which again, was not intentional. I wouldn't say it's the worst place in Italy, as some of the food was good, but definitely not the best. It was a let down, and more than just a bit disappointing. I would say, don't be fooled by the long list of items on the menu - just because there's a lot of something, doesn't mean there's a lot of anything good.

So, I have been visiting this place for the last 20 years or so and I absolutely love the way they have evolved from a (very) simple osteria into an almost chic restaurant, without losing their local tavern touch. Their famous suppli' are the real reason I keep coming back though and, in general, quality of food is quite good. Alas, prices have increased accordingly and it is for this reason that I have decided to give 3 out of 5 stars to my last visit. Not many customers and they decided, for whatever reason, that my order needed to be converted from stuffed turkey into a sliced beef steak (tagliata). Service is rather poor.
