If you are even someway interested in the Etruscan people, and the history of Central Italy...and can make the trip, it is mind bending to see the artifacts in real time. No one can describe accurately just how important it is to look at art of the ancients to get a grasp on the words in books, or video footage. The layout of the collections is pure logic and keeps the mind following the path of time, right through the middle ages. It's brilliant, and art itself. Perugia, and Italy can be darn proud of the efforts at this Museo, and the people behind it. One note however. Most displays are accompanied by description in Italian alone. Bring a smartphone with a video translator app if you do not speak Italian or Latin.

It was pretty amazing to see artifacts from as early as 325AC, and the view from the museum is incredible!

Nice museum, most of their collection is ossuaries. English speakers may not enjoy it as much. They did have translation pamphlets but all the English ones were missing.

Really nice museum with rich collections. It'd be great with more English text for international visitors.

Very interesting archeological museum with some great pieces from Etruscan times. Remarkable are the San Mariano bronzes, probably constituting burial of a very important Etruscan person, offering an unprecedented glimpse into Etruscan art. The collection is very largeso take care to have some time to explore it (and don't arrive there too tired as there's plenty to see!). Possibly it would be nice if the curators could arrange in some alternative rooms some highlights of the collection and point out where similar items are within the museum, as navigation through it is not straightforward at the moment and visitors might be overwhelmed by the quantity of artifacts.

A very interesting museum. Lots of important information, fascinating subjects, professional exposition. Most materials are solely in Italian. It's painful for foreigners like me.

Nice museum housed in the former convent of San Domenico, You won't have much to read if you don't speak Italian. I would recommend it to all Perugia lovels.
