★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'Arco della Mandorla (noto anche come Porta Eburnea), ubicato nei pressi di piazza Mariotti, tra via Bruschi e via S. Giacomo, ha una caratteristica forma ogivale, da cui deriva il nome. Merita senz'altro una visita, tra l'altro la tradizione popolare attribuiva un valore propiziatorio al suo attraversamento.

La Porta Eburnea, o Arco della Mandorla, è una delle antiche porte della cinta muraria etrusca di Perugia.
L'origine del nome è dovuta al fatto che anticamente nelle vicinanze si trovava un tempio dedicato al dio Vertumno e rivestito d'avorio.
La porta è stata modificata nel XIV secolo ed oggi si presenta nella sua forma medievale con l'arco ogivale ed i caratteristici giunti sporgenti. L'unica decorazione rimasta è una testa di leone in travertino, replicata in un rifacimento medievale nella porta Trasimena di via della Sposa, e alcune lettere che probabilmente formavano la scritta AUGUSTA PERUSIA - COLONIA VIBIA, che ricorre in quasi tutte le porte della cinta etrusca, come l'Arco Etrusco o la Porta Marzia.
La tradizione popolare indica questo luogo come particolarmente propizio, al punto che i Baglioni, prima delle loro spedizioni militari, non mancavano mai di passare sotto quest'arco.

The Porta Eburnea, or Arco della Mandorla, is one of the ancient gates of the Etruscan city walls of Perugia.

Popular tradition indicates this place as particularly favorable, to the point that the Baglioni, before their military expeditions, never failed to pass under this arch.
