β β β β β Museum is still closed, more than 25 years after its construction. A monument to mismanagement of public money. The museum has the remains of the roman boat from third century AD, found in the nearby Marano lagoon in 1986. The boat was transporting amphoras, bronze heads of Poseidon and Minerva, and glassware to the nearby town (then port) of Aquileia. It is a pity we can't see any of those things.
