Easy to find place, ample parking. Visit of the abandoned mine in 1907. External and internal visit (currently for Covid only the first floor, otherwise you could go down to the 4th level). Courteous and prepared guides. Place also used for summer dinners with next visit. Space also available as a location for events.

A trip not to be missed, in a peaceful landscape, even just the journey to get there is part of the beauties. Comfortable excursion, in the COVID phase it is possible to see only the first level of the mines, not at all tiring and very safe even for children. There is little to walk and there are no climbs or steps but it cannot be accessed with strollers or wheelchairs. Only outside the steps to visit the lifting shaft but nothing very tiring and in any case short. Very friendly and helpful staff. For those who are always looking for new things to do this is to be included. I recommend going there in the morning, having lunch in the village 800 meters away where you can eat very well (book in time) then, maybe in the afternoon, visit nearby Volterra which has an ancient charm. Here you are, you have organized a different day .. good all!

We really enjoyed our visit to the mine along with our 4 boys 10 ×2, 12 and 14 all of whom found it interesting and had plenty of questions. The tour was great and in both Italian and English.

Highly recommended. Suitable for visit also for kids. The biggest iron mine of XIX century in Europe. The guide are very kind and knowledgeable. The cost of the ticket is worth the visit. There is a quite big parking lot at the entrance. They organize also dinner inside the mine.
