★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contains differnet artifacts/objects on the wall with a sheet in different languages explaining what they are (bible with fingerprints or burn marks etc) when you get in just say il museo per favore and you will be shown into this tiny room. We werent made to give any donation but we did so any way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In the big church a lonely hall stands with strange frames with hand marks on cloth. It was bizarre,silly and scary. And the story is creepy. The ghosts is haunting that place. Is it real or fake very funny. Love join to readers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fascinating. Very important reminder of the need to pray for the Church Suffering, in particular our deceased relatives and those who have no-one to pray for them. Smaller than I expected but well worth the trip! Exquisite little gothic church.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ +JMJ...My visits to this Church were usually to spend time in quiet solitude, to admire the truly unique side Altar paintings (colors transcendentally beautiful), to visit the museum which showcases relics, and to participate in evening Holy Mass. One such visit, there was a young man playing the organ. He was so talented that I was moved to struggle to use the little Italian that I could speak to let him know how grateful I was for his shared musical talents. He just smiled. My photo shared, of the exterior of the Church, was taken during a March 2007 solo pilgrimage. 7 August 2017, Revisiting this review to add more photos and memories. The additional photos were taken when I was in Rome for the Holy Year 2000. I was a volunteer who had the blessed privilege to meet and greet English speaking pilgrims when they visited any of the designated Holy Year Station Churches in and outside of Ancient Rome. This particular Church was not such a Church, but I would visit here anytime I was in Rome. And, to mention, the description I gave on my uploaded photo of Our Lady of the Rosary painting was taken from an info sheet provided for any one interested to learn about paintings and exhibits in what they called "Piccolo Museo del Purgatorio." God bless and thanks to all who take the time to read my reviews and to view my not so fabulous photos. Excuse their quality but accept my eagerness to share my memories.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Among about ten purgatorial items enclosed in a single huge glass case there is for example a small prayer book with burnt fingerprints, a night-cap with burnt fingerprints, and piece of table surface with a charred cross and a hand-shaped mark. Dead people have reached from the depths of the purifying holy fire and scorched stuff.
Why? Usually the point for a dead person suffering in eternal flames is to appear to someone familiar and ask him or her to pray on to shorten the time in purgatory. I don't know how it worked out for the souls that burned these objects. Nor do I know how modern insurance companies would react to claims for indemnity for purgatory-burned property. But the exhibition is definitely worth seeing!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Church of the Sacred Heart of Suffrage is an incredible, mysterious, but also very particular Church. It is the only church in Rome built in the neo-gothic style, but what makes it really special is a small room located next to the sacristy. It is a small museum of the Holy Souls of Purgatory.
