G	Gian Luca Ragg on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piccolo museo ma fatto bene con numerosi cartelli esplicativi, anche in inglese, che racconta la storia, al primo piano, della Tuscia dal paleolitico all'età del Ferro. Interessanti i reperti del lago di Mezzano e molto inusuale la tavoletta enigmatica trovata in loco: è un pezzo unico per quanto riguardail Lazio. in Italia altre tavolette sono state recuperate in Toscana, Umbria e in alcune regioni settentrionali Peccato che molti dei cartelli riportanti la posizione dei vari siti siano illeggibili perché scoloriti. Al secondo piano esposizione di ceramiche medioevali trovati nei butti del castello. Da non perdere la Scala Santa; nel 1730 il Castello dei Farnese, concesso all'ordine delle suore Domenicane, venne trasformato in Monastero di clausura. Qualche decennio dopo le stesse suore, trasformarono la Scalea cinquecentesca del card. Alessandro Farnese, nipote di Paolo III, in una Scala Santa, rimuovendo gli affreschi di sapore profano e sostituendoli con scene della Via Crucis e della Passione. I reperti coprono un arco che va dalla preistoria fino all' epoca dei farnese e sono tutti del territorio intorno e vicino al lago di bolsena. Vi è anche una sezione dedicata agli etruschi. The museum is located inside the farnese fortress of valentano, admission price 4 euros.
