La fondazione del Museo si deve al Conte Andrea Piovene nel 1852, dove si può ammirare la grandiosa e spettacolare Palma Fossile , unico esemplare al mondo di palma fossile, intera con le radici, situata al centro del pavimento dello stesso Museo, alta metri 9,85.

La palma fossile lunga quasi 10 metri è eccezionale, inoltre il restyling del museo è un raro esempio di collaborazione tra privato ed associazione (pro loco) per la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale del paese!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La villa ha un bellissimo parco che in tardo inverno ospita primule, viole ed anemoni sui prati. Il museo dei fossili è piccolo e le vetrine male illuminate, il riflesso impedisce una visione agevole. Però la palma con radici più grande del mondo da sola merita la visita.
The villa has a beautiful park which in late winter hosts primroses, violets and anemones on the lawns. The fossil museum is small and the windows are badly lit, the reflection prevents an easy vision. However, the largest palm tree in the world alone is worth a visit.
