University museum with free admission. The rooms and the exhibits inside are very accurate and detailed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interessante Museo dell'università di Lecce, vicino a Porta Napoli. Ingresso gratuito, personale (studenti?) molto gentile. Poche sale con pannelli e video di buon livello didattico. Sezione dedicata all'area archeologica di Roca, vicina a Lecce.
Non tutti i video funzionavano a dovere ma forse è perché l'abbiamo visitato dopo un temporale che ha interrotto la corrente elettrica. Consigliato
Interesting Museum of the University of Lecce, near Porta Napoli. Free admission, staff (students?) Very kind. Few rooms with panels and videos of good educational level. Section dedicated to the archaeological area of Roca, near Lecce.
Not all videos worked properly but maybe it's because we visited after a storm that interrupted the electricity. Recommended

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tappa fissa per gli appassionati di storia e archeologia, ma non solo! Il Museo conserva reperti storici ritrovati nel territorio salentino dagli studiosi dell'Università. Presenta un'esposizione chiara e ben curata con pannelli e schede illustrative anche in lingua straniera, e monitor multimediali. Molto interessante è stato riscoprire i contesti antichi della Preistoria o della civiltà Messapica: è sempre avvincente riscoprire le proprie radici, attraverso un viaggio a ritroso stimolante.
Il MUSA è inoltre sempre attivo per ricche iniziative didattiche per le scuole. Personale estremamente cordiale e preparato. Ne vale la pena!
Fixed stage for lovers of history and archeology, but not only! The Museum preserves historical artifacts found in the Salento area by scholars of the University. It presents a clear and well-maintained exhibition with panels and illustrative sheets also in a foreign language, and multimedia monitors. It was very interesting to rediscover the ancient contexts of Prehistory or Messapian civilization: it is always exciting to rediscover one's roots, through a stimulating journey backwards.
The MUSA is also always active for rich educational initiatives for schools. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum is not that large yet quite interesting because it shows local archaeological projects rather than only their respective results (something an archaeologist appreciates). English, though, is not well covered because the videos and leaflets are bad and the texts are mostly in Italian only. The finds on display are well selected. The student's staff was very friendly.
