a	annarita celi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tutte le volte che le osservo ne rimango meravigliata e rapita, ma cio' che mi disturba e' il fatto che la manutenzione come nella stragrande maggioranza di tutti i siti archeologici ( e Roma ne e' piena x fortuna) NN VENGA MAI EFFETTUATA da nessuna delegazione politica. Lo dico anche da cittadina romana, e mi dispiace. Every time I look at them I am amazed and kidnapped, but what disturbs me is the fact that maintenance, as in the vast majority of all archaeological sites (and Rome is full of them) NN NEVER BE MADE BY anybody political delegation. I also say this as a Roman citizen, and I'm sorry.
A	Alessio Fauni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tratto delle Mura Aureliane sicuramente molto difficile da ammirare a pieno e fuori da ogni genere di rotta turistica, visto che fa da muro di confine da un lato e la Tangenziale Est scorre dall'altro. L'ho visto mentre passavo in auto e sicuramente dal punto di vista storico non ha niente da invidiare ad altre murature dell'epoca, ma la posizione è assolutamente sfortunata. Section of the Aurelian Walls certainly very difficult to admire fully and out of any kind of tourist route, since it acts as a border wall on one side and the East Ring Road flows on the other. I saw it while passing by car and certainly from the historical point of view it has nothing to envy to other walls of the time, but the position is absolutely unfortunate.
G	Gianluca Pica on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apprezzo molto le Mura Aureliane di Roma, più come cittadino della Città Eterna che come guida turistica locale. Le Mura Aureliane, legate al nome dell'imperatore Aureliano che, dal 271 d.C. circa, avviò i lavori per quello che fu il progetto urbanistico più grande di Roma, rappresentano molto cose: baluardo difensivo, il confine tra una politica d'espansione ed una difensiva, un modo per controllare (nella Roma antica) i dazi ed il commercio dei beni. Qui, poi, si vede benissimo come per la realizzazione delle Mura Aureliane, per risparmiare tempo e denaro, si siano utilizzate per anche monumenti o edifici preesistenti. Il riutilizzo dell'anfiteatro Castrense, con la chiusura dei suoi archi, ben vesibile con la linea curva che le Mura Aureliane qui hanno, rende benissimo l'idea. Nel corso degli anni e dei secoli altri imperatori o uomini politici romani (da Massenzio a Onorio) intervennero, modificando, restaurando o distruggendo porzioni di mura, e tale processo andò avanti quasi fino ai giorni nostri. Passeggiare lungo le Mura Aureliane significa davvero passeggiare lungo la storia di Roma. È sempre un piacere, per me, organizzare delle visite guidate qui, alla scoperta dell'evoluzione militare, culturale ed economica di Roma. I really appreciate the Aurelian Walls of Rome, more as a citizen of the Eternal City than as a local tour guide. The Aurelian Walls, linked to the name of the emperor Aureliano who, from 271 AD. about, started the works for what was the largest urban project in Rome, represent a lot of things: defensive bulwark, the boundary between an expansion and a defensive policy, a way to control (in ancient Rome) duties and trade of goods. Here, then, it is clear how for the realization of the Aurelian Walls, to save time and money, they were also used for monuments or pre-existing buildings. The reuse of the Castrense amphitheater, with the closing of its arches, well visible with the curved line that the Aurelian Walls have here, gives a very good idea. Over the years and centuries other Roman emperors or politicians (from Maxentius to Honorius) intervened, modifying, restoring or destroying portions of the walls, and this process went on almost to the present day. Walking along the Aurelian Walls really means walking through the history of Rome. It is always a pleasure for me to organize guided tours here, to discover the military, cultural and economic evolution of Rome.
