Il luogo dove giace la statua è un teatro di costruzione moderna, a imitazione degli antichi teatri greci, situato sul lungomare Falcomatà a Reggio Calabria, nel punto in cui prima del terremoto del 1908 sorgeva il Molo di Porto Salvo. Per celebrare i 100 anni del Giro d'italia (2017), la statua della Dea Athena è stata scelta come monumento da illuminare di rosa.
Wonderful glimpse! The place where the statue lies is a theater of modern construction, in imitation of the ancient Greek theaters, located on the Falcomatà waterfront in Reggio Calabria, where the Porto Salvo pier stood before the 1908 earthquake. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Giro d'Italia (2017), the statue of the goddess Athena was chosen as a monument to be illuminated in pink.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vista magnifica verso la Sicilia. Era la prima volta che facevo la passeggiata sul lungo mare di Reggio e come consigliatomi in passato confermo che è una delle passeggiate più belle d’Italia.
Magnificent view towards Sicily. It was the first time I took the promenade along the seafront in Reggio and as advised in the past, I confirm that it is one of the most beautiful walks in Italy.

Wzdłuż Wybrzeża po zachodniej stronie ciągną się miejskie plażę a także ładna Promenada Falcomata długa na nieco ponad kilometr została nazwana na część w Falcomaty wybitnego burmistrza Reggio który przyczynił się do znacznego rozwoju miasta między innymi poprzez zwalczanie mafijnej działalności.
The statue of the Goddess Athena, a work by the Messinian sculptor Bonfiglio, was removed in 1932.
Along the Coast, on the west side, there is a city beach, and the pretty Falcomata Promenade, just over a kilometer long, was named after the outstanding mayor of Reggio in Falcomaty, who contributed to the significant development of the city, among others by fighting mafia activities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice viewpoint during your promenade on the shore. The place is usually full of fisherman who tried their luck and teenagers looking at the see and dating.
The monument of Athena with shield and spear is about 10m high facing the land and guarding the city.
Particularly nice at sunset !
