Essendo il cuore di Monza ed il simbolo alla memoria dei caduti merita di più! The square and the war memorial should be better valued and above all the adequately illuminated monument. Opera di Enrico Pandera presenta, sopra un basamento in pietra rosa, un gruppo bronzeo di combattenti quidati dalla Vittoria; sul monumento sono riportati i nomi del monzesi caduti anche nelle guerre successive. È molto scenografico perché svetta al centro della grande Piazza Trento-Trieste, che anticamente era il "Pratum Magnum" e sede sin dall'epoca medievale del mercato e della fiera di San Giovanni. Tra il 2005 e il 2009 è stata oggetto di riqualificazione che ha introdotto elementi che rimandano alle attivita del passato. I canali ricordano la Roggia Pelucca e le formelle nella pavimentazione presentano marchi dei mercanti del XV secolo. Sul lato nord della piazza sorge il Palazzo Municipale (1932). A margine della piazza si possono consultare i pannelli con le indicazioni per tre diversi tipi di itinerari turistico-culturali contraddistinti da un colore diverso: l'azzurro è il percorso "acqua" (seguendo il fiume Lambro); il rosso è quello dei monumenti storici; il giallo collega gli edifici religiosi. The monument was built between 1922 and 1932 in memory of the fallen of the First World War. The work of Enrico Pandera presents, on a pink stone base, a bronze group of fighters quidified by Vittoria; the monument bears the names of the monzesi who also fell in subsequent wars.
