β β β β β Questa chiesa nel centro di Monza fu costruita nel 1348 , ultimata e consacrata nel 1357, Γ¨ in stile Gotico Lombardo. Oggi , all' interno, ci sono le impalcature per lavori di restauro e oltre all'altare , si vede ben poco. Da visitare a lavori ultimati.
 This church in the center of Monza was built in 1348, completed and consecrated in 1357, is in Lombard Gothic style. Today, inside, there are scaffolding for restoration works and in addition to the altar, very little can be seen. To visit when work is finished.

β β β β β Questa chiesa si trova nel centro storico di Monza e sorge su un antico convento dei Frati Francescani costruita intorno al 1348. Attira molto l'attenzione la bellissima facciata, il campanile di colore rossastro con un tipico stile medievale. Purtroppo chiusa quando ci sono passato io ma posso tranquillamente consigliare di visitarla.
This church is located in the historic center of Monza and stands on an ancient convent of the Franciscan Friars built around 1348. The beautiful façade, the reddish bell tower with a typical medieval style attracts attention. Unfortunately closed when I went there but I can safely advise you to visit it.

β β β β β ...la chiesa di Santa Maria in Strada si trova nel centro storico di Monza!!!...in via Italia!!!...detta in strada perchΓ¨ si trova sulla strada principale che da Monza porta a Milano...stile gotico-lombardo spettacolare!!!...non passa di certo inosservata!!!...all'interno importanti affreschi con gli altari secondari!!...sicuramente merita una visita se ci si trova da quelle parti!!!
... the church of Santa Maria in Strada is located in the historic center of Monza !!! ... in via Italia !!! ... called in the street because it is located on the main road that leads from Monza to Milan ... spectacular Lombard-Gothic style !!! ... certainly does not go unnoticed !!! ... inside important frescoes with secondary altars !! ... definitely worth a visit if you are in those parts !!!

β β β β β Purtroppo vista solo da fuori. L'appunto che muovo a molte chiese in cittΓ Γ¨ il fatto di non avere affisso un pannello con gli orari di apertura (e i giorni). Vi Γ¨ invece il pannello informativo con la breve descrizione del monumento, che Γ¨ utile (l'indicazione delle chiese su questo percorso, messo in modo lineare, a mio avviso confonde perchΓ© non sono dislocate in tal maniera). Comunque l'edificio si trova a breve distanza da Piazza Trento-Trieste, lungo il centrale Viale Italia, direttrice importantissima di collegamento tra la cittΓ e Milano. Per questo la chiesa prese il nome S. Maria in Strada. Fu eretta dai Terziari Francescani tra il 1348 e il 1368 che ne affidarono il progetto al milanese Ambrogiolo. Passata agli Agostiniani (1393) del convento milanese di S. Marco, fu rifatta (successivamente, nel 1756) internamente in stile barocchetto. Nel 1870 fu restaurata all'esterno, che ha conservato lo stile gotico. Γ composta da una finta loggia e ornati in cotto, con inserimento di simboli quali la stella a sei punte (Stella di Davide, per molti "Sigillo di Salomone"), il Fiore della Vita, ecc. Nella nicchia che sovrasta il rosone si trova la copia della Madonna con Bambino ("Vergine con la cintola"), il cui originale Γ¨ al Museo del Duomo di Monza. Imponente il campanile, visibile da diverse angolazioni.
Unfortunately seen only from the outside. The point that I move to many churches in the city is the fact that they do not have a panel posted with the opening hours (and days). There is instead the information panel with the brief description of the monument, which is useful (the indication of the churches along this path, put in a linear way, confuses in my opinion because they are not located in this way). However, the building is located a short distance from Piazza Trento-Trieste, along the central Viale Italia, a very important link between the city and Milan. For this reason the church took the name S. Maria in Strada. It was built by the Franciscan Tertiaries between 1348 and 1368 who entrusted the project to the Milanese Ambrogiolo. Passed to the Augustinians (1393) of the Milanese convent of San Marco, it was internally rebuilt (later, in 1756) in Baroque style. In 1870 it was restored on the outside, which has retained the Gothic style. It consists of a fake loggia and terracotta decorations, with the insertion of symbols such as the six-pointed star (Star of David, for many "Solomon's Seal"), the Flower of Life, etc. In the niche above the rose window there is a copy of the Madonna with Child ("Virgin with the belt"), the original of which is in the Museum of the Cathedral of Monza. The bell tower is imposing, visible from different angles.
