 Very beautiful church that still preserves inside two important works of art: the "Deposition of the Cross" by Volterra Giampaolo Rossetti and a festive decoration in stucco and gold surrounding the fresco of the dome with "the Apotheosis of San Dalmazio bishop di Pedona ", work by Ranieri del Pace of 1709.It is open only for the function of Sunday at 17.00 ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il borgo venne fondato nell’XI° secolo intorno a un monastero di monache benedettine dedicato a San Dalmazio. Fu infatti Ildebrando V° Aldobrandeschi, detto il Mancino, allora proprietario della Rocca Sillana, che fece edificare il monastero proprio perché sua figlia Abigaille, come religiosa, trovasse protezione tra quelle mura, al sicuro dalle scorribande dei capitani di ventura. Esternamente all’ abitato, venne anche costruita una chiesa in stile romanico, dedicata al santo, attribuita a Bartolomeo Ammannati. Tuttora ben conservata col suo campanile ottocentesco, la chiesetta custodisce al suo interno un pregevole tabernacolo del 1400, di Luca della Robbia. L’opera fu donata dalle monache nel 1447 alla Chiesa di San Dalmazio, per lo scampato pericolo del saccheggio da parte dell’esercito del re Alfonso d’Aragona.
Purtroppo non ho trovato aperto questo luogo e ignoro se si possa visitare o meno.
The village was founded in the 11th century around a monastery of Benedictine nuns dedicated to San Dalmazio. It was in fact Ildebrando V ° Aldobrandeschi, known as Mancino, then owner of the Rocca Sillana, who had the monastery built precisely so that his daughter Abigaille, as a religious, would find protection within those walls, safe from the raids of the captains of fortune. Outside the town, a Romanesque-style church was also built, dedicated to the saint, attributed to Bartolomeo Ammannati. Still well preserved with its nineteenth-century bell tower, the church houses a valuable tabernacle from the 1400s, by Luca della Robbia. The work was donated by the nuns in 1447 to the Church of San Dalmazio, for the narrow escape from the sacking by the army of King Alfonso of Aragon.
Unfortunately I didn't find this place open and I don't know if you can visit it or not.
