★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa, realizzata su progetto dell’ architetto Piccardi di Firenze e direzione dei lavori del pistoiese Ing. Natale Rauti, e’ stata consacrata il 14 Giugno 1958 ed e’ propositura dal 1 Ottobre 1999.
Sperimenta planimetricamente una fusione di pianta centrale con uno sviluppo trasversale dell’aula, tema poi sviluppato dall’ architetto Michelucci nella chiesa del Belvedere. All’ interno la struttura in cemento armato e’ a vista mentre l’esterno e’ rivestito in bozze regolari di pietra che ricercano una assonanza visiva con l’architettura romanica. La semplice e austera geometria progettuale e’ stata attenuata con la realizzazione di vetrate nel 1962 e del nuovo fonte battesimale in pietra nel 1972. Il Campanile, edificato nel 1991-1993 su progetto degli architetti Feola e Lazzari, si presenta isolato all’angolo nord ovest della chiesa sottolineando e suggerendo l’emergenza simbolica di questa.
The church, built on a project by the architect Piccardi of Florence and direction of the works of the Pistoiese Ing. Natale Rauti, was consecrated on June 14, 1958 and is proposed since October 1st 1999.
It experiments planimetrically a fusion of central plan with a transversal development of the classroom, a theme then developed by the architect Michelucci in the church of the Belvedere. Inside, the reinforced concrete structure is exposed while the outside is covered in regular stone drafts looking for a visual assonance with Romanesque architecture. The simple and austere design geometry was attenuated with the construction of stained glass in 1962 and the new stone baptismal font in 1972. The Campanile, built in 1991-1993 based on a project by the architects Feola and Lazzari, is isolated at the northern corner west of the church emphasizing and suggesting the symbolic emergence of this.
