Very beautiful and well maintained basilica. The octagonal church is preceded by an atrium with beautiful altarpieces some of which are dedicated to the Madonna

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cupola del Vasari incredibile, se arrivate a Pistoia sicuramente é una delle cose che vedrete per prima e che vorrrete andare a visitare.
Il fatto é che la cupola si trova in mezzo alle strade, e non si riesce a vedere bene, perché non viene valorizzato da nessuna piazza adiacente.
Il che é un peccato. Più che il duomo di Pistoia questa dovrebbe essere l'attrazione principale.
Incredible Vasari's Dome, if you arrive in Pistoia it is certainly one of the things you will see first and that you will want to go and visit.
The fact is that the dome is located in the middle of the streets, and you cannot see it well, because it is not enhanced by any adjacent square.
Which is a shame. More than the cathedral of Pistoia this should be the main attraction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spacious interior really gives the empty space and scale for humility. You feel small inside. Which was the whole point. Large paintings adorn the circular design. Worthy of a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On our way from Piazza Duomo, trying to find the way back to our car, a duome appeared at the end of a small street - and urged us to find out what it was. (We hardly ever use a tourist guide when we visit places and so we risk to miss something - or be surprised to discover something amazing). And it was astonishing, the Basilica which, somehow hidden behind the houses, opened up. I took some pics from inside, but the photos hardly can show what we experienced here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such a great monument to visit, you can have a great view from one of the narrow streets. Also, you can go inside pray if you love to or you can. Only visit. You don't need to pay entrance fee or something like that.
