M	Massimo Ferrari on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sul finire del secolo XII gli Uomini della cappella di S. Romano ottennero dall’abbazia di Fontana Taona alcuni pascoli dell’alta valle della Limentra (1198) . Quasi un secolo dopo, il contratto con la badia fu rinnovato dagli stessi Uomini di S. Romano (1288). Il comune rurale di S. Romano era già compreso nel distretto pistoiese fin dalla prima metà del secolo XIII. La chiesa era sottoposta al monastero di S. Bartolomeo ; ma agli inizi del 200 il vescovo Soffredo ne rivendicò ed ottenne il patronato. Negli elenchi delle decime la ecclesia S. Romani è registrata come suburbana e figura con lo stesso titolo nei verbali delle visite pastorali a partire da quella del vescovo Pandolfini, ed in seguito con il più preciso riferimento topografico: ecclesia S. Romani de Valle Brana. Dal XVI al XVIII secolo, fu unita a S. Romano la chiesa di Germinaia . Alla fine del 600, tra gli oratori dipendenti era quello della Beata Vergine che era stato ampliato alla metà dello stesso secolo e più tardi elevato alla dignità di santuario. Della chiesa medioevale di S. Romano sono conservate le strutture esterne, mentre l’interno è stato modificato nel secolo XVII.. At the end of the twelfth century, the men of the chapel of S. Romano obtained some pastures from the abbey of Fontana Taona in the upper Limentra valley (1198). Almost a century later, the contract with the abbey was renewed by the same men of S. Romano (1288). The rural municipality of S. Romano was already included in the Pistoia district since the first half of the thirteenth century. The church was subjected to the monastery of S. Bartolomeo; but at the beginning of the 200 bishop Soffredo claimed it and obtained patronage. In the lists of tithes the ecclesia S. Romani is registered as suburban and appears with the same title in the minutes of pastoral visits starting with that of Bishop Pandolfini, and later with the most precise topographical reference: ecclesia S. Romani de Valle Brana. From the 16th to the 18th century, the church of Germinaia was united to S. Romano. At the end of the seventeenth century, among the dependent speakers was that of the Blessed Virgin which had been enlarged in the middle of the same century and later raised to the dignity of a sanctuary. The external structures of the medieval church of S. Romano are preserved, while the interior was modified in the 17th century.

G	Giuliano Bonacchi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nel mese di maggio come di consituidine come molti altri fedeli mi sono recato al Santuario di val di brana, e risalendo a piedi sono passato davanti a questa chiesa sicuramente molto antica, non so se ancora ci si svolgono attività religiose, ma è sempre un bel vedere. In the month of May as a consituidine like many other faithful I went to the Sanctuary of Val di Brana, and going up on foot I passed in front of this church which is certainly very old, I do not know if religious activities still take place there, but it is always a nice to see.
