We booked a room through one of the popular apps (dont remember which one) and headed for Genova, about 100 km away at the time of booking.
We arrived in the late evening (20:00 or so) and pressed the door phone button. A voice answered but the person knew not a single word of English or German (we asked repeadetly). The person hung up.
We called the phone number and another Italian voice answered. This person did not understand English either, and hung up after about a minute. They declined our calls after that, and we ended up driving through the night instead of getting sleep. The person paying (not me) was refunded by the booking service as far as I know.
TL;DR: We drove 100 km to arrive at a locked door and had nowhere to sleep because of incompetent staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice B&B. It is very simple, clean and functional. They have free WiFi and a basic but nice breakfast in the morning. I would recommend it for a short stay but it may be too basic if you are going to stay longer. What I would say is that lady that runs the place cannot speck English. Having said that, she made great effort to understand me and to communicate what it is she needed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staying here was a wonderful experience. Although there aren't many rooms, the three days I spent here were very nice. Gloria, the lady who manages the place, was very kind and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Italy Inn to any incoming tourists who want to experience Genova.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I do not recommend this place. While it is clean and well located, the window isolation is very bad, hence it is very noisy, especially at night. The woman who runs it was never available when needed.
