β β β β β Colonia greca del IV a.C.. Il parco archeologico Γ¨ molto interessante, immerso dalla natura del Nebrodi, nello sfondo di un mare blu intenso. L'insediamento ellenistico e le insulae romane sono contigue, ben visibile la struttura delle terme e parte dei mosaici. Suggestiva la basilica probabilmente d'etΓ tardo imperiale e il teatro. Tutto Γ¨ ben accessibile. Assolutamente da vedere
 Greek colony of the IV BC ... The archaeological park is very interesting, surrounded by the nature of the Nebrodi, in the background of an intense blue sea. The Hellenistic settlement and the Roman insulae are contiguous, the structure of the baths and part of the mosaics are clearly visible. The basilica is probably suggestive of the late imperial age and the theater. Everything is well accessible. A must see

β β β β β Tyndaris fu una cittΓ straordinaria come testimoniano gli scavi archeologici, che ancora non sono completamente terminati
Γ situata su un promontorio alto e roccioso con precipizi a picco sul mare di fronte le Isole Eolie in uno straordinario scenario. Si vedono ancora i resti di mura di cinta difensive e si possono godere delle antiche vestigia. L'acropoli oggi occupata dal Santuario della Madonna nera di Tindari.
Straordinario il Teatro Greco che si affaccia sul mare ancora mirabilmente e parzialmente utilizzato. Peccato i mosaici presenti, che appaiono abbandonati e in completo dispacimento.
Dispiace la mancanza di personale a presenziare nel parco (anche se ci sono servizi di videosorveglianza attiva) potrebbe essere un valido aiuto nelle spiegazioni che cercano gli utenti.
Alla biglietteria, con accesso a pagamento, c'Γ¨ un QR code con la mappa da scaricare del sito.
Un piccolo museo fa corredo... Ma consiglierei una "spolveratina" nelle teche, tanto per togliere almeno insetti cadaveri
Vale sicuramente la fatica (specialmente se si arriva a piedi dal parcheggio auto distante c.ca 800/1000 mt.) arrivare fin quassΓΉ. La vista che ci attende e l'atmosfera che si respira Γ¨ ferma nel tempo!

It is located on a high and rocky promontory with precipices overlooking the sea in front of the Aeolian Islands in an extraordinary setting. You can still see the remains of the defensive walls and you can enjoy the ancient vestiges. The acropolis today occupied by the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna of Tindari.
Extraordinary the Greek Theater that overlooks the sea still admirably and partially used. Too bad the mosaics present, which appear abandoned and in complete despair.
Sorry for the lack of staff to attend the park (even if there are active video surveillance services) it could be a valid help in the explanations that users are looking for.
At the ticket office, with paid access, there is a QR code with the site map to download.
A small museum is the equipment ... But I would recommend a "sprinkle" in the display cases, just to remove at least insects corpses
It is certainly worth the effort (especially if you arrive on foot from the car park about 800/1000 meters away) to get up here. The view that awaits us and the atmosphere that you breathe is frozen in time!

β β β β β Gli scavi archeologici di Tindari, molto belli da vedere. Si rivive un po' l'atmosfera del passato. All'interno c'Γ¨ anche un piccolo museo con vari oggetti del passato e anche un bellissimo anfiteatro greco. Bello anche il panorama con vista sul mare.

β β β β β Iniziamo a pedalare e per 20 km in pianura, direzione la salita di Tindari. I lidi si susseguono con sparute persone al sole. Ormai la stagione Γ¨ terminata, solo persone indigene.
La sosta pranzo ai laghetti di Miranello. Spiaggia calda, Γ¨ mezzogiorno. I laghi alla base del monte su cui si erge il santuario di Tindari, fungono da specchio alla chiesa 300 metri circa piΓΉ in alto. Lβacqua Γ¨ immobile, anche il mare a poche decine di metri, Γ¨ una tavola. Anche se inabile al nuoto, entro in acqua, caldissima. Pranziamo non senza pensare alla salita.
I circa 250 metri di dislivello della salita ci preoccupano un poβ, Cri non ha alcun allenamento. Fortunatamente, la salita non Γ¨ proibitiva e, a parte qualche sosta per bere, arriviamo sul piazzale del santuario e Cri sempre in sella! Visitiamo il bel santuario, pieno di mosaici e vetrate colorate, non senza una preghiera.
Tindari Γ¨ soprattutto zona archeologica. Un abitato era presente anche in etΓ del bronzo, ma verso il IV a.C., i siracusani fondano la cittΓ con Dioniso. Bellissimo il teatro, la basilica costruita con massi che fanno impressione per le loro dimensioni, immaginando come possano essere riusciti a portarli in cima la montagna e poi posizionarli. Resti greci si sommano a quelli romani. Interessanti i pavimenti musivi, tra i quali spicca il simbolo della Sicilia, le tre gambe!! Triscele o trinacria.
We start pedaling and for 20 km on the flat, towards the Tindari climb. The shores follow one another with sparse people in the sun. The season is now over, only indigenous people.
The lunch stop at the Miranello lakes. Hot beach, it's noon. The lakes at the base of the mountain on which the sanctuary of Tindari stands, act as a mirror to the church about 300 meters higher. The water is still, even the sea a few tens of meters away, is a table. Although unable to swim, I enter the water, which is very hot. We have lunch not without thinking about the climb.
The approximately 250 meters of difference in altitude of the climb worry us a little, Cri has no training. Fortunately, the climb is not prohibitive and, apart from a few stops for a drink, we arrive at the square of the sanctuary and Cri always in the saddle! We visit the beautiful sanctuary, full of mosaics and stained glass, not without a prayer.
Tindari is above all an archaeological area. An inhabited area was also present in the Bronze Age, but towards the IV BC, the Syracusans founded the city with Dionysus. The theater is beautiful, the basilica built with boulders that make an impression for their size, imagining how they could have managed to bring them to the top of the mountain and then position them. Greek remains are added to the Roman ones. The mosaic floors are interesting, among which the symbol of Sicily stands out, the three legs !! Triscele or trinacria.

β β β β β stunning ancient Roman village on the hill where modern Timpari lays. there are many housing blocks neatly organised in rows some with very well kept mosaics. on one end there's a small Roman amphitheatre with view on the sea. on the other there's the remains of a chapel. worth a visit.
