Amazing place, very beautiful panorama opens from this theater, but entrance fee is too high, it is not worth 10 euro for one person

Great setting with a vista of the sea and Aeolian Islands. A fair amount remains, especially from the Roman period, including some impressive mosaics. Much remains to be excavated, the site seems huge. The central Roman section with its red brick pillars is particularly peaceful and evocative.

The theater itself is not so impressive, given the fact that it is being used for cultural events and little of the original structure can be seen. The view from the theater towards the seaside is an advantage. The whole site is worth it. Tindari is a roman city of large scale. An entire insula (living quarters) was excavated and displayed. A public bathroom with mosaics is the centerpiece of this sector. The site is too big and is in early stage of excavating. There is not much more to see there.

The entrance to the theatre area is a bit pricey in relationship to other locations, but it's obviously going to a good cause. I'm not sure if it's so weedy year around, but when we were there in April it was a bit wild and overgrown. The little museum has some great artefacts. I had never thought about them having glass vessels 2500 years ago!

Okay place, but somewhat faded glory. The theatre is nice, set in a green scenery (at least in November after a wet October) and the mosaic floors of the remains of the houses were impressive, but the place is in need of an update. The road signs were Β΄t clear, explanation of the sites were in Italian only, some wooden paths were in such rotten state they were closed off, there was no toilet paper in the rather unclean toilet room... A pitty, because the possibility is there!
