★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brilliant lunch we had and I'm sure the dinner is fantastic. Our appetizers were absolutely dishes and the steak was cooked perfectly which is hard to find in that area. Check it out if you can!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The reservation team works hard here - we only managed a lunch reservation. Happily we had good weather and had a lovely table outside with gorgeous views. The lunch menu is more limited than dinner - clearly laid out on their website (but I overlooked that). I wasn’t expecting the food to knock my socks off - and it didn’t - but it was a nice meal. The smoked swordfish as part of an appetizer was great, since I had only had smoked salmon before. The tuna, as part of the same appetizer, was weird - looked and tasted like it came out a can. Gnocchi and a pasta as mains, both fine. Decent service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Tridente aims high with hallmarks of fine dining like polite, well dressed wait staff, a change of cutlery between each dish, an elaborate menu and chic presentation. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t match up. The dishes from the menu at Il Tridente don’t live up to the expectations set by the price. Food is simple, with light flavour and tasty, but at no point will it blow your socks off. And, at this price point you want it to. A terrace table with views over Positano was also not available on our visit, due to the high winds which was disappointing, but quite understandable.
