★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service is great. We were told the cuisine is very good but it is not. We ordered chicken and rabbit and they were raw and hard to eat. If it were beef, that would be ok, but it was not. I do not recomend the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very enjoyable lunch at this restaurant which is tucked away down a side road (behind the Coop) and therefore off the beaten track (although the village was quiet and the labirynth of steep alleyways make it a real gem). The restaurant was frequented by a number of locals which is testament to the good food and great value for money. Two simple but pleasant outside eating areas. The menu is limited but interesting; we had tasty pecorino al forno con porcini, pici con ragu bianco, asparagi e funghi porcini, and scamerita al pepe e capperi. Great double expresso! It was definitely worth seeking this restaurant out after a visit to the San Galgano Abbey.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very much worth visiting. Reminder of the terrible effects of war and the folly of mankind.
If there is to be a critical observation, then it is that not enough attention has been paid to to the effects of the WW2 on allied populations in Africa and India. Here besides providing soldiers, civilans died due to neglect, mismanagement and arrogance of the western commanders.
Historians may forget but history doesn't. This lacuna should and will be covered. If not, then in the near or distant future the memorial and museum at Caen will become irrelevant.
