★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple but near perfect hotel. Unostentacious but has all you need including a wonderful pool and fabulous views. All you need that is except great food. The pool bar/cafe is good but the main restaurant is disappointing: maybe catering to a predominantly non Italian clientele is the cause of this. I would not recommend 'half board' because five to ten minutes walk away are at least fifty restaurants of all descriptions and price ranges.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well priced, great location and friendly staff.. *caution* - parking is free but very tricky... being just on the edge of town (5 minutes walk) but neighboring an incredible botanical garden/park this hotel is quite the find! Breakfast's are simple yet sufficient for most people and the pool is large and well maintained. My only issue is with the lack of coffee.. no coffee in the rooms and room service doesn't serve until 7:30... The room's are comfortable with all the basics. Hotel Villa Diodoro is a great option for individuals and families alike. Definitely a hotel we would return to. ?? (Oh and the views from around the property are very nice indeed!) *Follow up*.. our last evening we were having some wine on the bar level outside and we got drawn into a little game of football with a few young people.. turned out they were related to the owner's of the hotel.. they are very decent people, we had a lively game and it was a pleasure to meet them all.. grazie!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ FANTASTIC views from room 432, a junior suite perfect for our family of four. Great service. The hotel has some age to it but that is part of the charm. The pool is super, also with the most amazing views. Great to get a drink or coffee and look at the kids playing and the ocean below.
The carpets in the stairs should be replaced however, it is completely worn down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very unique experience! The hotel itself is very historic and stuck in time. Lots of lavish salons and ballrooms along with big balconies throughout the building. Views are breathtaking from almost every corner. However, the rooms are quite old, not having been renovated for a long time. Thus, amenities are limited. Cleanliness could have been better, too. The breakfast is very basic with limited options, but all the staff were brilliant and accommodating. The hotel is just a short walk to Taormina centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have a sentimental weakness for this hotel because we had our Wedding there in 2013. However, we experienced the symptoms of an aging structure and a far from perfect cleaning of our room. We do not want to comment further and we hope that what we found this time was just a glitch. Staff is wonderful as usual.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fantastic hotel! The room was clean, spacious, and had great air conditioning. The balcony on our superior room had amazing views and was large enough to seat us both outside.
The staff are very attentive and went out of their way to make sure our stay was nice.
Breakfast was really good and was set in the large banquet hall which is beautiful.
Parking is free on the premises but it is limited so be mindful of that.
