Outdated hotel that pretends to be luxury by covering everything with gold paint, but fails at basics. - The room was in the corner, wifi barely reaches it and keeps disconnecting. Can't afford a repeater in a "4 star" hotel? - Window curtains do not block light, enjoy getting up with the sunrise whether you want it or now. - "Double bed" turned out to be a two single beds with a gap in between that you will fall into. - The amenities seem nice, but close too early. Outdoor pool closes at 6pm. It does have a good location. The breakfast is good, with a great view on the lake from the restaurant.

We had a beautiful suite at the splendid Regina Palace Hotel in the center of Stresa overlooking the shores of Lake Maggiore, amazing location. The hotel provides a great breakfast in the most amazing setting: palace like. The hotel is filled with historical content, antique furniture, frescoes and chandeliers that give you a sense of history and nobility.

The palace looks great, very nice and luxury decoration BUT the services are really not worth of a fourth-class hotel, especially a palace. The staff is unpleasant and we felt even disconsidered by them, it was our worst stay in a four-star hotel. For instance: -In our first day, we have to call them three times to get the bath-robes that normally should be in the room. That is, we called in the morning, and after many calls, they came at 17h30… -The cleaning of the rooms were usually after 15h30, knowing that we were leaving the room around 10h00. The cleaning consisted of only ranging the beds and providing articles for bath, once in two days… -The breakfast was a buffet but we had to stay in line to be served by the totally unpleasant staffs. Not only they rarely smile but if you asked for more portions, they look very badly to you. As if you still something. That is why in the second day we only took something smooth and avoid to stay in line. -Our initial stay was planed for four days. For a medical reason, we had to short our stay and leave one day before. Initially, they unpleasantly reject our claim but we called booking and they solved the problem (after calling them couple of minutes, without answer, and leaving a mail after). We thought the problem was solved (thanks to booking.com) because we were able to check out one day before with no extra night to be paid. We have got a final invoice for our three days stay but, surprise, one day after, the hotel charged the last night we did not spent there. I contacted the sales department of this hotel and their responses have nothing to do with a normal relation with a client…I never got such treatment from a hotel. -During my stay, I ordered something from Amazon, and, properly delivered to the hotel. But the package has been lost, I contacted them by mail, off course, no answer… In conclusion, I will never think to come to this hotel. It is pity for the place and for the architecture, but with such service quality, the stay can be very unpleasant, not worth at all for the money we pay.

Beautiful hotel, but unfortunately, the service brings the whole experience down. Our bathroom was not cleaned, shower was left unwashed still having previous guests left behind empty shower gel and shampoo bottles. Plus, neither we had given new ones. Even bigger surprise (negative) was being charged 6 euros for ice. First time ever I see a hotel charging money for ice. And the staff were also not able to help us with a wine opener. So there you sit with a bucket of ice for 6 euros and un- openable bottle of wine in a dirty shower with no new supplies. However, the building itself is exceptionally beautiful and the location is great.

We were fortunate to stay here a few yrs ago, before Covid stopped us from coming back, however, we certainly will come again when traveling has on once again some normality attached to it. This is a beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, although some in our party found theirs a bit small, but we had a corner suite, which was quite generous. The position of Hotel Regina is superb, easy walk.to quality shops and a beautiful view over Lake Maggiore. Service was prompt and efficient. Highly recommended.

Amazing beautiful place. So decorative, so clean. The staff were lovely. The pool area was fabulous. I felt like a film star staying there. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return one day.

A hotel that really feels like a Palace! Extremely ornate throughout including the rooms. Great position facing Lake Maggiore.
