Best hotel! The owner and every person from the staff is very friendly, polite, helpful and funny. Our room was pretty and cozy with a very comfortable bed. Food? Delicious. There was no problem with getting something vegetarian. Sauna and swimming pool are great. Perfect to relax after driving all day. View? Stunning. You have to come and see it. Not enough? THERE IS A DOG. The goodest boy named Roy. We can’t wait to be back here!

Comfort rooms, pool with a beautiful view on Mountain, wellness+skiing and very delicious dinners! Breakfasts are not perfect, but you can order something additional if you're not completely satisfied. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone who loves relaxation.

Positive: First of all the hotel is in a beatiful Valley at the foot of Mt. Ortler, the highest mountain in South Tyrol. Trafoi is a neat village that is very laid back in the month o september. The hotel is run by a small family. Both parents and their daughter are friendly locals. The hotel does offer rooms with breakfast and rooms with breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a menu of 4-6 courses, all of which were excellent. Breakfast had a bit of variety with decent ingredients. The rooms are cozy, wood-laden with modern bathrooms. TV Program comes in German and Italian.. Negative: This hotel has two major flaws. Trafoi is a neat city. However there are literally no shops, stores or restaurants. If you want to buy food or have dinner at a restaurant you need to leave the town for Sulden or Prad which is a 15-30min drive. While the dinner is excellent both booking and the hotel do nor represent properly the prizing structure of the dinner. Rooms with breakfast are 15€ cheaper per person than the half pension ones. However, if you decide to have dinner later (either on site or during the preparition of the trip) dinner will cost you 25€ per person excluding drinks. In my opinion this should be communicated more openly. The breakfast is a lot less diverse than advertised. While it is a lot better than average Italian hotel breakfasts it is also a lot worse than central european 4star standards. There is only cheap cheese (tasted like young Gouda) and two different types of cold cuts, furthermore yogurt and bread are always the same. While the eggs are prepared freshly to your liking they frequently took longer than the breakfast so that we had to send them back..

Fantastic hotel, besides the location, literally on the Stelvio Pass, the rooms are roomy and comfy, the food is excellent and a lot, but most of all very nice staff willing to fulfill your every need.

Positive: New interiors, clean, renovated but without the atmosphere of true South Tyrol. Quiet location too bad we had a room at the back with no view. Appreciated : Homemade breakfast cakes: the option to be able to order eggs for breakfast.. Negative: Sauna and hammam not working although during booking it was not specified; we only knew at check in without many details. Very disappointing dinner, with low quality food, without local products or dishes. There is no possibility to choose between at least 2 different menus as usually offered by hotels in Trentino Alto Adige. Breakfast with grocerie food, no local cheeses or salumi.. We also chose the hotel based on the reviews, which after staying and having dinner seem exaggerated. Delundant price-quality ratio. Another unforgivable inconvenience is that no one warned at check out that Passo dello Stelvio ha been closed at night. We had to go at 2700m to find the road to Bormio closed; then return and take the road to Bolzano. No communication with customers..

Positive: Right at end (or starting point) of the Stelvio Pass, it was the perfect location to end a long day of riding. I chose this place in a bit of a hurry—and really only focused on the location—so didn't have any expectations other than it being decent. It turned out to be very comfy, (with great views from the room) and the dinner was amazing value for money.. Negative: - The dining and breakfast area felt a bit too crowded for me with regards to COVID. - I left without actually checking out (dropped the key on the counter) as I'd waited for about 5 minutes without any sight of staff, while the reception area filled up with other guests..

A perfect destination for hiking, dining and relaxing in the spa. We stumbled across the Madatsch on a motor bike trip through the Alps in 2014 and have been 3 times now. And again this summer! Great service and amazing facility. The hiking in the area and right out the door are world class.
