We have been looking forward to tasting a Barbera wine in Alba, Piedmont since we were first introduced to this wine. So far this trip has been beyond our expectations. Every region is unique. The Peidmont region and the wines of kings had my highest hopes. In less than an hour, the hotel staff, the wine and food has surpassed our wildest hopes. For the next three days we will explore.....

Fabulous, hidden gem. The rooms are well furnished, the beds are super comfortable, the garden is beautiful and oh so serene, and the food is spectacular. Wait till you see the breakfast spread!

Quaint. Helpful, friendly. Breakfast a delight. Rooms are somewhat aged, can occasionally overhear your neighbours but somehow it all adds to the charm. A perfect accompaniment to your Alba white truffle. 15 mins walk into town...

Our stay was May 3rd-May 5th. We notified the owner ahead of time that we would be driving in from the Milan airport at 2am (our flight was out of Houston, TX) and that we would call when we were about an hour away. Well, turns out we did not leave the airport till around 2am from a delayed flight. My fiance's wifi-calling was not working (we brought a Roaming Man) so we could not notify the owner. We pulled up to the hotel around 4:30am (2 1/2 hours late), and there he was waiting for us! He offered us a glass of wine but he knew we were exhausted and said "We will wait for you for breakfast." And sure enough, breakfast was still waiting on us when we finally awoke (past our alarms). Breakfast was wonderful. I didn't order anything hot (I should have just to try) because all the cold food and fresh juices were already above my expectations (and of course the espresso)! I never got to truly thank him or shake his hand when we departed and I still regret it! He gave us a lot of recommendations for food in the area and we were lucky enough to be there the weekend of Vinum (WORTH IT). Hopefully one day he reads this review and remembers us Texans. I gratefully appreciate his kindness.

Each time in Alba we stay here which is a small boutique hotel with an owner that likes wine. Room choice depends on your booking though in the afternoon they have a few choice local area wines open and some olives / cheese to enjoy. You can sit out in the garden area. The ambiance and style of this location is relaxed and calm - the main town area is around 7-10 minutes walk away. Owner and staff always helpful in recommending restaurants and new spots however on our last visit we was recommended a new bar that we didn't like at all Makes for a good choice if in Alba and ever so slightly off the beaten track

Great hotel close to Alba, an oasis just outside the city with swimming pool and great garden. Location is good as they have free bikes available. Room and bathroom were comfortable. This hotel is a very good deal and hardly unbeatable on price / value.

A quaint hotel within walking distance of Alba. We’ve stayed here a number of times during the Alba truffle festival and it’s a good base. The rooms are not fancy but the welcome from Nico and his team, as well as the excellent breakfast, make up for that. There is also ample car parking space.

Rated 3 stars, equating to a 'Good' rating. Was very disappointed on how the hotel handled an item that was left behind. While I was the one that left it, the hotel was very unhelpful in returning the item, although I had agreed to pay shipping. (I was not familiar with how to arrange for a courier service in Italy, and the hotel was too impatient to give me a day to sort out, resulting in the item being lost in the regular mail.) Staff was friendly enough, and the hotel was quaint. Superior room had no windows, only sky lights, which was odd. Shower tile grout was old and mildew stained. Breakfast had a very nice selection, but they took our egg order and then didn't bring out.
