Hotel Genziana

Struttura a carattere familiare con tutti i vantaggi conseguenti. Cucina tipica di altissimo livello. Abbondante come un giorno sugli sci e in bicicletta richiedono. Non troverete la cotoletta alla milanese ma il rostbeef di cervo, non il risotto alla milanese ma ai porcini e tartufo. Cosciotto di capriolo, formaggio alla piastra con polenta e tanto altro su questo tema. Lavanderia per capi sportivi: consegni di sera, ritiro il mattino. Un buongustaio amante dello sport non può scegliere altrove.

Perfect location. Half board meals are good. Rooms with heating, clean and comfortable. But, poor WiFi...

Nice ladies working there. The man on the other hand was very bitter. It's 20:00, 5°C. I'm sitting near the fire with a couple and notice the lady is shivering. The fire dies. I very politely ask the man at the counter if we can throw another log on. In response, he forcibly grabs my arm and walks me away from the lobby and says "if you want a fire, then you can go back to the United States" then "do you want to check out now?" It's late, a new hotel would be rather expensive, so I remained calm and returned to my seat. But I'm still taken back. His response was completely unprovoked. The couple and I were having a quiet conversation about traveling. We weren't intoxicated or making any fuss. So I was puzzled by his response. No one deserves this type of treatment. I will never stay there again.

Rooms worn but clean. Both cafe and restaurant serve high quality food. Fantastic sweet hostess. All at a cheap price the place taken into consideration

I don’t normally leave hotel reviews, but I wanted to give this spot some positive feedback. I had a great experience during my stay there, and the price was nothing short of perfect for my needs. Originally, I had not intended to do more than sleep here, but I found the staff (certainly appeared to be family owned) warm, welcoming, and helpful. After a later than anticipated check-in, I went down to the bar for a pizza and a glass of wine, and had a nice table next to the fireplace. The location is perfect. Situated at the top of the Stelvio Pass, it gives you ease access to the pass in both directions, as well as the Umbrail Pass towards Switzerland. Even though the rooms were a little outdated with a small CRT television, they are more than adequate (the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). The beds were super soft and I had zero intention of watching television while I was there. It was also enjoyable to have a private bathroom with a shower. One thing that really won me over is that the staff was patient with my less than perfect Italian, and were helpful even when I had trouble finding the correct words. I will most definitely return, and next time I will be bringing friends with me. Thank you, Hotel Genziana, for a wonderful stay. Don’t change a thing. ?? ??

Good location in Passo Stelvio, trek to the Rifugio Garibaldi right next the hotel. Helpful staff, very good cuisine. Room equipment is older, but everything works well and room was clean.
