Si osservano infatti innumerevoli grotte scavate nella roccia della gravina che servivano da abitazione e da difesa da attacchi estetni da parte di popolazioni nemiche. Credo il comune organizzi già dei tour guidati (in tal caso raccomando di rivolgersi all'infopoint in via Lucania). Si potrebbe fare molto di più per valorizzare le gravine e le chiese rupestri ormai quasi abbandonate a sé stesse. Non sono pubblicizzate, non sono promosse e i sentieri sono spesso inaccessibili. In sintesi: non fuibili dai turisti. Must visit place. However, it is advisable to access by following someone who knows the path as it is not easy to access for everyone. Aggirarsi fra le caverne significa compiere un salto nel tempo, in un epoca lontana in cui queste grotte erano frequentate da pastori e anacoreti. Si odono gli echi di un mondo arcaico e sublime. Meriterebbe di essere ancora più valorizzato. Beautiful testimony of a past civilization. The descent to the valley is very impressive. It is advisable to bring comfortable shoes. Wandering around the caves means taking a leap in time, in a distant era in which these caves were frequented by shepherds and anchorites. The echoes of an archaic and sublime world are heard. It deserves to be even more valued.
