β β β β β Julia and Pino are such natural teachers and hosts, and generous with their knowledge. This class is great not just for visitors to Rome but also longer term residents like me...lots of good tips on where to shop and how to judge a good meal. We did a solid hour or two on pasta technique but also delved into sauce consistency, knife skills, and peeling artichokes. Altogether a very satisfying, well-organised yet convivial class for anyone looking for a more meaningful engagement with Italian cooking.

β β β β β We took the Dolce course and the Pastas of Rome, and we wish we could do all the others! Julia and Pino are fantastic teachers and we loved both the courses and the food!

β β β β β My sister and I were in Roma for the last 3 days of a 17 day visit to Italia...Julia and Pino's cooking school came highly recommended by Elizabeth Minchilli,(whose book Eating Rome is terrific!). Julia and Pino are also terrific...their cooking school work area is a pleasure to work in, they clearly know their stuff, and even better, they are really good in explaining what they know. They are both professional and fun, a nice combination!... and this class teaches such great fundamental principles, that can easily be taken home.(delicious homemade fresh pasta in 30 minutes!) This class teaches the basics of fresh pasta making, in several shapes... along with three sauces...and along the way...some prosecco, other nice students, and an absolutely wonderful lunch of 3 pastas accompanied by vino rosso and bianco!!
What an enjoyable experience!
Highly recommended!

β β β β β We have done 3 classes with Grano & Farina over the last two years. We keep coming back because unlike other cooking courses their lessons combine deep technical knowledge with a passion for food that is often missing from the other cooking classes we have taken. For anyone with a passion for food who is looking for lessons that go above and beyond the typical tourist experience this is the place for you. You will not only learn lifelong technical skills but also have a fantastic time!

β β β β β I took the 4 Roman Pastas class on site in Rome. It was a great experience, very professional and authentic. It's not just a demonstration - Julia and Pino involve students in everything and really want you to learn the techniques so you can replicate the recipes at home. The recipes and tips discussed during class are provided by PDF afterwards, so you don't have to worry about writing anything down during class. Also something that I found very thoughtful was Julia taking pictures/video of me with my phone while I made pasta - as a solo traveler I usually never have those kind of memories because there is no one to take them for me. But in this case I do (and the video she made is really great!) :) Safety/Hygiene protocols are strictly followed so I felt very safe. I will definitely be back for more classes here!

β β β β β Chef Pino is a true chef. The son of a cook he knows all I can think of worth knowing about cooking. And in his own relaxed and serious way he shares this knowledge. What a man. Together with his wonderful wife they run all sorts of cooking classes. My wife and I did the risotto and learned so much. Five people attended so there was room for learning. We loved it and can absolutely highly recommend the courses. Best regards, Casper Rongsted

β β β β β Grano & Farina offer the most professional-level cooking classes you can get in Rome. You will really learn to make stuff like pasta, pizza, and desserts. The instructors are really nice and I've taking several in-person classes with them as well as some online classes. The owners really know food and they are incredibly knowledgeable. If you take a class ask lots of questions because they know everything!

β β β β β I was referred to Julia and Pino's Pasta making class by a good friend who previously took a class. When I say that this was the best experience I had my first (albeit not last) trip to Italy, I absolutely mean it!
This is a step by step class. Everything from the correct way to hold a knife to making the perfect pasta dough! Julia is an amazing teacher. I say that because I am horrible at cooking and she was so patient and kind throughout the entire process! I highly recommend adding a class to your visit in Rome, it is an unforgettable experience and one you can share with family and loved ones on your return home!
