Beautiful place with manicured gardens where you can, with reservation, take guided tours with a botanical expert. The gardens can be visited twice a year in autumn and spring on the occasion of a market exhibition of rare and non-rare flowers and plants. To visit absolutely.

Beautiful and well-kept garden, but I don't understand why to pay 8 euros more for a market where plants from various nurseries are exhibited, when directly from the nursery I would have paid less. It is illogical to pay a price to go and buy ...

A unique place. The gardens are beautiful, plants and trees never seen before and wonderful inflorescences such as ancient roses, camellias, water lilies and beautiful cherry trees. An applause to the guide: very good!

nothing exceptional, repetitive plants except for a few exceptions and a narrow path in my opinion ... then we also met people who entered without a guide. I did not like the fact that in order to access the gardens you must first log into the site to buy tickets for the market exhibition online, then once you are there, queue up to buy more for the gardens with a guide ... except for a few exceptions, as I said above!

β β β β β A number of years ago, we did a two week vacation in the area south of Rome focusing on gardens. Of all the gardens we visited (about 20), two still stand out in the memory: Ninfa and Landriana. Ninfa is wildly romantic while Landriana is much more cerebral, organized into a series of garden rooms, each with its own beauty and charm. I would urge you in include both on any tour of gardens. Both in my opinion rank with the best gardens in the world.

β β β β β I visited on Easter Monday this year. Whilst there wasn't a lot in flower that which was, Prunus and Malus trees especially were lovely and the Camellias were starting to show their glory. Sadly I didn't have much idea what was being said by the guide, not being Italian, but loitering at the back of the group allowed me to view the different areas more easily. The garden has its share of long views from the Cypress lined paths-classic Italy , but there were also some great planting schemes, which although looking nothing on the visit one could anticipate a divine effect when in bloom. I think of the space sloping down a hill planted with Rosa mutabilis underplanted with Liriope...sensational idea ! The grove of flowering cherries below was looking beautiful especially as the sun shone through the blossom. At another point up the hill ,past the lake with its wealth of Taxodium is a cosy space with Malus and a hedge /shrub surround of what might be Pittosporum. It was delightfully secluded in its feel.
The more formal styled rooms were interesting but there seemed to be indications of tiredness of the plantings . One hopes the designer Russell Page isn't looking down ,upset that his creation is showing a bit of infirmity. Notwithstanding it was evident work is underway to allow more light into the 'rooms' with some serious tree pollarding . Perhaps this will stimulate more robust growth from the existing plantings.
I'd love to be able to visit again in early to mid summer especially to enjoy the huge triangular plantings of Agapanthus under the Olive trees and a long path of roses on the concluding walk of the garden , not to mention the winding hillside path through the glade of Rosa mutabilis. So many glorious sights.
