★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una prima fontana risale al 1871-79, all'epoca della sistemazione dei giardini della piazza. L'attuale fontana fu inaugurata il 25 novembre del 1933 con la statua bronzea del Tritone eseguita da Carlo De Veroli (1890-1938). La fontana sarebbe splendida ma è in un grave stato di degrado per incuria dopo l'ultimo restauro del 2000 eseguito per l'apertura della fermata Museo della Linea 1 della Metropolitana di Napoli.
A first fountain dates back to 1871-79, at the time of the arrangement of the gardens in the square. The current fountain was inaugurated on November 25, 1933 with the bronze statue of the Triton executed by Carlo De Veroli (1890-1938). The fountain would be splendid but is in a serious state of decay due to neglect after the last restoration in 2000 carried out for the opening of the Museum stop of Line 1 of the Naples Metro.
