★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely, unusual place to visit while in Florence. I had a marvelous guide who explained off-beat things like the interaction of "cloistered"/silent monks and "lay"/speaking monks. He chanted to demonstrate the marvelous acoustics of the main church emphasizing the role the strategically placed holes in the ceiling and near the altar played to amplify the monks' voices.
Well worth a visit and so much less crowded than any of the main Florence churches.
