Si racconta sia stata la prima fabbrica di armi del Regno delle due Sicilie. Attualmente la struttura è abbastanza deteriorata, ma comunque dall’esterno rende ancora bene l’idea della grande architettura realizzata in epoca Borbonica. Purtroppo l’area non ha valore turistico, perché attualmente è di proprietà privata, e non è possibile visitarla all’interno, ma solo osservare alcuni scorci dell’edificazione dall’esterno. Currently the structure is quite deteriorated, but from the outside it still gives a good idea of the great architecture built in the Bourbon era. Oggi, non è altro che un mega resort per le vacche di passaggio e si trova nell'abbandono più totale. Peccato che un'opera d'arte e d'ingegneria come questa faccia una fine simile. Al momento in cui ci siamo stati il cancello era chiuso, anche se all'interno del sito c'era sicuramente qualche custode, ma ignoro se ci sia la possibilità di visitare la residenza. Peccato che il posto non sia valorizzato tanto, spero in futuro che lo sia di più. Una piccola chicca storica nel territorio calabrese.
