 Little advertised, hard to reach but worth the effort. They ask you for a free offer for unseemly toilets. The cost of admission is purely symbolic (1 euro)

Meglio arrivarci salendo da Monasterace Marina.

Evocative place carved into the rock destination of many pilgrimages. it is said that here the Madonna has chased away the devil whose claws can be seen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is absolutely stunning, and an amazing journey to get there with fantastic views. The road is signposted well and you are cobstantly climbing a mountain to get there. The road changes to a one way road at the picnic area about half way up.
There is no entry fee or parking fee.
The views around the church are absolutley stunning, an amazing part of the untouched calabrian countryside.
I posted a video of the beauty and tranquility of it recorded at the top behind the church.
Mamma Mia yes she is definately a beauty to see.
There are a few narrow steep steps into the grotto but can be done at ease for older people. There are seats inside to have a little rest.
I spent a lot of time here and it was well worth the visit, take a picnic and make a day of it.
Honestly it is breathtaking!!!
