Uno scenario unico, con a nord l'Etna ed i paesi etnei a sud, che racconta la brutale eruzione che distrusse la vecchia Malpasso e parte della città di catania

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un parco bellissimo. Se avete la possibilita' di fare una lunga e pesante passeggiata di media difficolta' scoprirete luoghi con vista mozzafiato. Facilmente raggiungibile, parcheggio disponibile. Posto ideale per bambini, anziani. Si ha la possibilita' di trascorrere giornate in mezzo alla natura o fare una scampagnata. Fornito di servizi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vado spesso in questo scorcio di natura percorrendo la stradina ad anello che abbraccia questo cratere ormai estinto. Purtroppo un paradiso destinato a soccombere in quanto si necessita di interventi particolari. Il terreno cede portando via gli alberi che lasciano tristi ed enormi buchi tra la vegetazione, il percorso semplicissimo purtroppo è ostacolato da diverse cadute di tronchi o cedimenti che non permettono il transito agevolmente, la maleducazione di molti ha creato interi tappeti di rifiuti plastici e i sentieri sono completamente privi di segnaletica. Da riprendere totalmente, bisogna valorizzare questo "Olimpo"
I often go to this glimpse of nature along the ring road that embraces this now extinct crater. Unfortunately a paradise destined to succumb as it requires special interventions. The ground gives way, taking away the trees that leave sad and huge holes in the vegetation, the very simple path is unfortunately hindered by several falls of logs or subsidence that do not allow easy transit, the rudeness of many has created entire carpets of plastic waste and paths they are completely devoid of signs. To be totally taken over, we need to enhance this "Olympus"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice spot for a quick walk (1h max), suitable for families. If you which to have lunch there, you will have to pay ad. 1€/p but the facility is nice. You won't be charged for walking up. Going on the right part of the crater you could find some nice cm-sized crystal of magmatic amphibole just looking on the ground ;)
Crater was created during the huge eruption of 1669 which destroyed nicolosi and bring lava flow down to catania 15km away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful trail and went during the week so we were the only ones on the mountain. Peaceful. We parked outside the gate, walked all the way to the end where there is a rotunda, and the the trails are on your left.
