A lovely small restaurant with beautiful and cozy atmosphere. We had a nice dinner overall with a tasty cotoletta and very good risotto. And make sure you try the homemade desserts: the panna cotta was stunning! Fair prices and friendly service complete the picture

The best of the best. You just have to try this heartwarming food! Every bite was a pleasure..with the most phenomenal service. You’ll not be disappointed. Special mention for the risotto with champignons and the mouthwatering tiramisu with white chocolate. Wow!

A quaint small romantic place serving traditional Italian cuisine. The presentation of the food may look unassuming but the food is delicately prepared. The schnitzel is not dry nor oily. The ossobuco melts in your mouth. The tiramisu is light and moist. The owner even opened a new bottle of wine in front of me though I just ordered a glass. The attention to details made every guest feel special.

On my quest to find authentic food in authentic restaurants when I visit a city I found this gem on my journey to a Cotoletta Milanese. Wow and what Cotoletta I got. Great experience! Very personal service, lovely food and shop - pass by when in town ?

I was on a mission to find ossobuco for dinner on my one day in Milan before heading south. I looked at some places but they seemed overpriced and very touristy. El Barbapedana is a small restaurant a short distance from the busy bustle of the Navigli canals. I made a reservation for one person earlier in the day as I was solo traveling. I arrived at 9 pm for dinner. I went right for the ossobuco with Milanese risotto and it was incredible. The veal, the marrow, the risotto, all sensational. The chocolate salami was decadent and the perfect sweet ending. The waiter was friendly, patient, and welcoming. And the best part was that every table around me was speaking Italian. Quite the contrast from the canals of Navigli where every table eating around me was speaking English while I was enjoying my pre-dinner drink. I'll make El Barbapedana my first stop next time I'm in Milan! It was a lovely, homey, and delicious experience.

The risotto with ossobuco is actually very salty, but mixing the risotto with the meat and sauce compliments very well into a flavorful mix. Very satisfying. The risotto has a cheesy pull but not overpowered by cheese taste. The veal cutlet is probably the best cutlet i have tasted, soft crunchy exterior and tender and not too dry on the inside
