★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il monte Amiata ha una vetta accessibile e un bosco incantato ma mi disturba tantissimo la presenza di decine di mega antenne enormi oltretutto ho scoperto inattive. Una deturpazione del paesaggio importante!
 Mount Amiata has an accessible peak and an enchanted forest but I am very disturbed by the presence of dozens of huge mega antennas, moreover, I discovered inactive. An important disfigurement of the landscape!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Per raggiungere la croce abbiamo utilizzato il tapis roulant. Esperienza molto divertente al costo di 1€ ultimo tratto da fare a piedi. Non semplice perché la neve era ghiacciata. Alla croce ci sono diversi localini.
To reach the cross we used the treadmill. Very fun experience at the cost of 1 € last stretch on foot. Not easy because the snow was frozen. At the cross there are several cafes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 14 Agosto: giornata estiva in vetta al monte Amiata. Temperatura a mezzodì 24' quando a valle ce ne sono 10 di più, bella camminata tra i faggeti fino alla Madonna degli Scouts e poi alla croce. Il paesaggio è piacevole se non c'è foschia; in tal caso si può vedere anche il lago di Bolsena. In vetta un paio di baretti/ristoro molto affollati, troppo per godersi il luogo come si deve. Merita il giretto in seggiovia che porta a Cantore e ritorno in vetta. Adatto a famiglie per una giornata all'aperto. Lo rifarei ma in bassa stagione.
August 14: summer day on the top of Mount Amiata. Temperature at midday 24 'when there are 10 more downstream, nice walk among the beech woods up to the Madonna degli Scouts and then to the cross. The landscape is pleasant if there is no mist; in this case you can also see the lake of Bolsena. At the top a couple of very crowded bars / restaurants, too much to enjoy the place properly. Worth the ride on the chairlift that leads to Cantore and back to the summit. Suitable for families for a day outdoors. I would do it again but in the off season.
