Very special and immersive experience in the religious architectural nature of Matera. The ticket clerk we met was very kind and helpful. The visit takes between 20 and 30 minutes, definitely worth seeing.

Suggestive and fascinating! Highly recommended to appreciate the architectural and pictorial history of the place capable of fully transmitting the spirit of Matera.
Kindness and unique generosity on the part of the volunteer in charge of the entrance ticket, also available to fill the curiosity and questions of visitors. Also excellent as a lookout point.

As of August 2019, closed for renovations without further information. It contains four crypts with Byzantine frescoes .... a great shame in the year it is UNESCO's Capital of Culture
