Convent of San Francesco, you can breathe an air of Peace, since I was a child I have seen this Convent a Safe and Protective place. F	Francesco Soletti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La piazza deve il suo nome colloquiale alla presenza della chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi e dell'annesso convento di Frati Minori Francescani. L'edificio di culto viene costruito ai primi del Seicento inglobando un preesistente oratorio cimiteriale di San Vito, ma nelle sue forma attuale è frutto di una quasi totale ricostruzione dopo il terremoto del 1936. La chiesa conserva al suo interno sculture in marmo bianco di fra' Claudio Granzotto (1900-1947), beatificato nel 1994, che visse a lungo nel convento. Sul lato ovest della piazza si trova il monumento a Massimiliano Maria Kolbe, padre francescano morto in un lager tedesco nel 1941, beatificato nel 1971 e dichiarato santo nel 1982. Estratto da «Vittorio Veneto e le Prealpi Trevigiane» (Francesco Soletti, Touring Editore, 2016) The square owes its colloquial name to the presence of the church of San Francesco d'Assisi and the adjoining convent of Franciscan Friars Minor. The cult building was built at the beginning of the seventeenth century incorporating a pre-existing cemetery oratory of San Vito, but in its present form it is the result of an almost total reconstruction after the 1936 earthquake. The church preserves inside sculptures in white marble of Fra Claudio Granzotto (1900-1947), beatified in 1994, who lived for a long time in the convent. On the west side of the square is the monument to Maximilian Maria Kolbe, a Franciscan father who died in a German concentration camp in 1941, beatified in 1971 and declared a saint in 1982.
