★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questo monumento fu eretto in uno dei luoghi della "Battaglia del Volturno" del 1 Ottobre 1860, che vide contro le forze borboniche e l'armata garibaldina. In particolare qui, vicino alla ferrovia, ripiegarono i soldati e l'artiglieria al comando di Enrico Fardella (1821-1887) che riuscirono a resistere e a costringere alla ritirata il nemico in superiorità numerica.
La lapide si legge appena:

IL REDIVIVO ITALIANO VALORE
NEL PRIMO OTTOBRE 1860
QUI VINSE

IL REGGIMENTO FARDELLA
QUESTO MONUMENTO ERGEVA

 This monument was erected in one of the places of the "Battle of the Volturno" on 1 October 1860, which he saw against the Bourbon forces and the Garibaldi army. In particular, here, near the railway, the soldiers and artillery under the command of Enrico Fardella (1821-1887) retreated and managed to resist and force the enemy in numerical superiority to retreat.
The plaque just reads:
