★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antica Villa degna di nota a ridosso delle mura, oggi ospita il centro mentale, ovvero il centro di igiene mentale è un ramo ospedaliero che si occupa delle patologie psichiatriche come depressioni, schizzofrenia, anoressia, bulimia, dipendenza, etc...
Esse lavorano spesso per zone e sono collegate alle ASL locali, poichè si tratta di un reparto esterno alla struttura ospedaliera. (Ad esempio se la persona che ha bisogno di cure abita in una frazione del comune di Ferrara, dovrà rivolgersi alla struttura che segue il suo comune).
Spesso queste strutture sono organizzate come una normale struttura ospedaliera: da una parte si trovano gli ambulatori e un'area riservata annessa dedicata ai ricoveri.
All'interno di queste strutture lavorano diverse figure: medici psichiatrici divisi per patologie o, per "zone di competenza" che seguono i casi periodicamente e assegnano cure farmacologiche a seconda del caso; educatori sociali che collaborano con gli psichiatri per il recupero della persona attraverso delle attività pratiche; assistenti sociali che accolgono i casi e spesso indagano sull'ambiente in cui vive la persona malata.
