XI - XII (preesistenza intero bene )
La chiesa potrebbe essere stata costruita sui resti dell'antica chiesa del monastero di Santa Maria, sito lungo la fiumara ad Armento, ai piedi di Serra San Luca. Resti di affreschi nella chiesa attestano l'antica dedicazione, la scena rappresenterebbe lo sposalizio della Vergine. La chiesa è citata nelle Sante Visite dei vescovi nel 1588, 1744 nel 1833.
DescrizioneLa chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate, si erge lungo il corso del torrente Armento, sorta su preesistenze dell'XI-XII secolo. A navata unica si conclude con un vano quadrangolare con funzione di abside, probabilmente la parte più antica della struttura. Ha una copertura a capanna e il paramento murario ad intonaco. Attualmente risulta inagibile poichè rimasta incompleta dopo l'interruzione degli interventi iniziati nel 1987 ad Opera del Provveditorato alle Opere Pubbliche.

The church may have been built on the remains of the ancient church of the monastery of Santa Maria, located along the fiumara in Armento, at the foot of Serra San Luca. Remains of frescoes in the church attest to the ancient dedication, the scene would represent the marriage of the Virgin. The church is mentioned in the Holy Visits of the bishops in 1588, 1744 in 1833.
Description The church of Sant'Antonio Abate, stands along the course of the Armento stream, built on pre-existing buildings from the 11th-12th century. A single nave ends with a quadrangular room with the function of an apse, probably the oldest part of the structure. It has a gable roof and a plaster wall face. Currently it is unusable as it remained incomplete after the interruption of the interventions begun in 1987 at the Opera del Provveditorato alle Opere Pubbliche.
