★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lungo il viale che costeggia i reparti clinici del grande complesso ospedaliero fiorentino fondato nel 1925, fu costruita nel 1933 la chiesa per le funzioni religiose del commiato dedicandola al santo patrono della città. Fu edificata su progetto dell'ingegnere Carlo Donzelli e, nel 1935, fu costituita in parrocchia. La cura di questa venne affidata ai frati Cappuccini, che già si erano dedicati all'assistenza spirituale degli ammalati nel vecchio ospedale di San Bonifazio in via San Gallo, trasferito poi a Careggi.
L'edificio è di forme semplici a croce latina con una navata ed un raccolto presbiterio. A breve distanza dalla chiesa si apre il viale che conduce alla celebre villa Medicea.
Along the avenue that runs alongside the clinical departments of the large Florentine hospital complex founded in 1925, the church was built in 1933 for the religious services of the farewell, dedicating it to the patron saint of the city. It was built on a project by the engineer Carlo Donzelli and, in 1935, it was established in the parish. The care of this was entrusted to the Capuchin friars, who had already dedicated themselves to the spiritual assistance of the sick in the old hospital of San Bonifazio in via San Gallo, later transferred to Careggi.
The building has simple Latin cross shapes with a nave and a small presbytery. A short distance from the church opens the avenue that leads to the famous Medici villa.
