This cathedral is very beautiful and rich in frescoes. The Chapel of Santa Barbara is very suggestive. We were lucky enough to meet Mr. Giorgio who illustrated us and gave us explanations on the history of these frescoes and paintings.

L’interno della cattedrale è a croce latina con navata unica in cui si aprono dieci cappelle laterali a pianta rettangolare coperte con volta a botte cassettonata, cinque per ogni lato. La navata è illuminata da grandi finestroni rettangolari ed è coperta con volta a vela. Importanti sono gli affreschi delle due cappelle dedicate una a San Giovanni Battista l’altra al Santissimo Sacramento eseguiti da Giuseppe Bastiani detto Giuseppina da Macerata. Vi si trova anche un antico crocifisso. The artistic tour of Fabriano continues with the cathedral of San Venanzio. The interior of the cathedral has a Latin cross with a single nave in which there are ten lateral chapels with a rectangular plan covered with a barrel vaulted ceiling, five on each side. The nave is illuminated by large rectangular windows and is covered with a vaulted ceiling. Important are the frescoes of the two chapels dedicated one to San Giovanni Battista the other to the Blessed Sacrament painted by Giuseppe Bastiani known as Giuseppina da Macerata. Il rifacimento attuale ha lasciato comunque una piccola traccia dell’album impianto medioevale; una piccola cripta a destra del coro, con degli affreschi del XIII sec.
