Oltre ai dipinti ed alle sculture superbe, sotto la chiesa si cela la cripta del Beato Giovanni dal bastone, un luogo carico di energia e di preghiera. Sia la Chiesa che la cripta sono aperte tutte le domeniche pomeriggio dalle 15,30 alle 17,30 e custodite dall'Ordine dei Templari. A place of Christianity that deserves to be seen. Purtroppo non si può tenere una chiesa aperta dalle 16 alle 18; quindi per questo motivo, non trovandola aperta la domenica mattina 1 novembre, non posso che darle una stellina. The church of San benedetto is located in the historic center of Fabriano. The facade is in classic Marche style. Unfortunately it is not possible to keep a church open from 16 to 18; so for this reason, not finding it open on Sunday morning 1 November, I can only give her a star.

Alcuni coloratissimi cicli di affreschi , di medie dimensioni, sono posizionati sulle colonne e all'interno delle arcate, da sembrare un nastro "sbobinato" di un film. L'altare centrale è molto avanzato rispetto all'abside, ottenendo un particolare e piacevole effetto di profondita'. Per me è una Chiesa ..... "cinematografica"? Assolutamente da visitare, specialmente nel periodo di Giugno se luogo in cui viene fatta l infiorate della porta del Piano per il Palio DI San Giovanni Battista. Il complesso attiguo alla chiesa, non più utilizzato come monastero, é stato poi dato in uso al Comune di Fabriano, e utilizzato prima come scuola, e ora come sede di varie attività associative, culturali e musicali. La chiesa è stata danneggiata dal terremoto del 1997 e successivi, e purtroppo lentamente risistemata, e ancora adesso ci dovrebbero essere lavori, e la chiesa, fino al 1997 parrocchia autonoma, non è quotidianamente utilizzata. E	Elisa M. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meravigliosa chiesa abbaziale che abbiamo avuto il pregio di visitare durante la manifestazione del Palio di S.Giovanni Battista nella quale è stata realizzata anche un infiorata . Visitabile durante l’anno la domenica pomeriggio grazie ai volontari dei cavalieri dell’ordine di Malta . Al suo interno si può trovare un coro ligneo di pregio risalente al 1400 , e la cripta meravigliosamente affrescata con all’interno la reliquia del bastone di S. Benedetto!! A fianco il bellissimo complesso del monastero di San Benedetto e la meraviglia del Gonfalone.
