★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Precedentemente intitolata a Santa Maria la grotta come l'omonima statua presente al suo interno, presenta una facciata in stile romanico alla cui sommità vi è un busto raffigurante il Santo Padre mentre più un basso è possibile ammirare un rosone centrale affiancato da due finestre. Tre bassorilievi al di sotto del rosone raffiguranti lo stemma di Grottole, la Madonna e l'angelo Gabriele completano la facciata con le porte d'ingresso. Divisa in tre navate, al suo interno vi sono una cantoria lignea ed un pulpito poligonale intagliato finemente. In fondo alla navata centrale è posto uno dei più grandi polittici della Basilicata, commissionato al pittore Pietro Antonio Ferro nel 1630, raffigurante le sette opere di misericordia corporale.
Chiesa visitabile quando aperta al pubblico per funzioni religiose o grazie all'aiuto dei volontari dell'Infopoint presente nella piazzetta della chiesa.
Previously dedicated to Santa Maria, the cave as the homonymous statue inside it, has a Romanesque facade at the top of which there is a bust depicting the Holy Father, while a lower one can admire a central rose window flanked by two windows. Three bas-reliefs below the rose window depicting the coat of arms of Grottole, the Madonna and the angel Gabriele complete the facade with the entrance doors. Divided into three naves, inside there are a wooden choir and a finely carved polygonal pulpit. At the end of the central nave there is one of the largest polyptychs in Basilicata, commissioned by the painter Pietro Antonio Ferro in 1630, depicting the seven works of corporal mercy.
Church can be visited when open to the public for religious functions or thanks to the help of the volunteers of the Infopoint present in the church square.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa stupenda, iniziare la visita da sinistra verso destra si fa un percorso di 1000 anni. All’interno si nota subito la sagrestia affrescata. Quest’ultima prima della costruzione della chiesa era una piccola chiesetta che portava in una grotta dove c’era la statua della madonna Santa Maria della Grotta.
Stunning church, starting the visit from left to right makes a journey of 1000 years. Inside you immediately notice the frescoed sacristy. The latter before the church was built was a small church that led to a cave where there was a statue of the Madonna Santa Maria della Grotta.
