It's been a while. Unfortunately we were here again in front of closed doors. The main entrance was so appealing. And these two beautiful statues.

Don Enzo is unique! A true gift of providence… Homily with him is never banal. The church is beautiful with an enchanting starry sky and a particular painting of the virgin praying behind the main altar.

While not loving this style, it must be said that it is an interesting church. It is located near the Town Hall and there is the possibility of parking. The first news dates back to 1454 but it was rebuilt and enlarged in its present form between the end of the 16th century and 1628. Previously there was perhaps a xenodochio. Its bell tower is visible from a distance and, due to its particular conformation, unmistakable (it was erected in 1626 but the elevation dates back to recent years); the facade has a Baroque style and in two niches there are San Cassiano and Sant'Emiliano. The single nave is oriented on the E-W axis with the entrance to the west. Upon entering, one is dazzled by the rich starry sky decoration of the nave and presbytery roof, with two majestic barrel vaults. The tempera ornamental motifs are refined; in the center a quadrilongo inside which is painted the "Madonna in glory among the apostles" (nave), and the "Dove of the Holy Spirit among Eucharistic symbols" (presbytery). Several relics are kept in the church, in the third chapel on the left: here is the altar of relics, erected in the 16th century. The marble inlay work is from the Brescia school of the late sixteenth century. Above it stands the masterpiece of Zenon Veronese: the Blessed Virgin enthroned with the Child Jesus in her arms surrounded by four saints: S. Cristoforo, S. Sebastiano, S. Antonio Abate, S. Donato. It would have been important to see the "Compianto", an eighteenth-century statuary group, but the Chapel of the Crucifix in which it is housed is currently occupied by the beautiful nativity scene. The sculptor is the famous Beniamino Simoni (1731). The “Palladian” flooring with polychrome marble chips is interesting.
