One of many beautiful churches in Modica. Built in strict Baroque style. The whole thing is that the whole ceiling is a wonderful wood carving.

Da segnalare l'Aula Capitolare della chiesa decorata con stucchi barocchi e con tele della vita di Gesù, da non perdere. Di notevole interesse lo stupendo portale in stile arabo-normanno della Cappella Palatina, monumento nazionale. L'altare centrale è arricchito da una tela raffigurante l'Assunta, eseguita nel 1713 dal pittore modicano Giovan Battista Ragazzi. Il tempio è visitabile tutti i giorni tramite la cura del Centro Studi "Placido Carrafa". La cappella della Madonna di betlemm è ornata di un grandioso arco in pietra lavorata. A sinistra, c’è l’antico presepe artistico. Tutto l’insieme è molto grazioso. La facciata abbastanza semplice ma accattivante. A very valuable church with numerous ancient paintings. Wooden ceiling painted with very nice oriental style ornaments. The Betlemm Madonna chapel is adorned with a grandiose carved stone arch. On the left, there is the ancient artistic nativity scene. The whole thing is very pretty. The facade is quite simple but captivating.
