★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa attuale fu inaugurata nel 1983 e presenta una forma circolare a ricordare un'ostia, di scarso valore artistico. All'interno vi si conserva una tela raffigurante i santi Giovanni Evangelista, Lorenzo e Venera che insieme alla Vergine proteggono Acireale, ben visibile al centro del quadro. Il vero tesoro è però la bellissima statua lignea del titolare, Giovanni Apostolo ed Evangelista, realizzata nella prima metà del XIX secolo dallo scultore acese Ignazio Castorina
The current church was inaugurated in 1983 and has a circular shape reminiscent of a host, of little artistic value. Inside there is a canvas depicting the saints Giovanni Evangelista, Lorenzo and Venera who, together with the Virgin, protect Acireale, clearly visible in the center of the picture. The real treasure, however, is the beautiful wooden statue of the owner, John the Apostle and the Evangelist, made in the first half of the nineteenth century by the Acese sculptor Ignazio Castorina
