★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendida basilica, trovata purtroppo chiusa (di domenica), come spesso accade anche altrove. Facciata decisamente monumentale, con numerose statue. Avrebbe bisogno di un restauro, molte parti si sono annerite, offuscando la sua bellezza.
Splendid basilica, found unfortunately closed (on Sunday), as often happens elsewhere. Very monumental facade, with numerous statues. It needs a restoration, many parts have blackened, obscuring its beauty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Anticamente in questo stesso luogo sorgeva nella prima metà del secolo XVI una chiesa dedicata a S. Giuseppe, da cui prende il nome il quartiere adiacente. Questa chiesa, però, fu danneggiata dal terremoto del 1693 e fu costruita nuovamente nel 1700.
In ancient times in this same place there was a church dedicated to St. Joseph in the first half of the 16th century, from which the adjacent neighborhood takes its name. This church, however, was damaged by the 1693 earthquake and was built again in the 1700s.
